Enetai - Salem Massachusetts to the Canadian border 2016, 300 Nautical Miles
This is the third 'leg' of our multi-year circumnavigation of New England and part of Atlantic Canada. In 2016, we sailed a short section of the loop around New England, close to home. We sailed from Salem Massachusetts Down East as far as the Canadian Border. This was a two-week trip. Our daughter joined us for the first week.
These are our home cruising grounds. Our annual two or three week cruise is usually along the coast of Maine. But, this is the first time 'Enetai' has actually sailed to Maine. She usually gets there at 60mph on the trailer. The weather was generally clear. We had some fog - Jonesport to Eastport - which is probably not a surprise to anyone who has been there.
There is a lot to see and do along the Coast of Maine. We usually try not to constrain our cruises with a destination or schedule. But, this trip was kind of an expedition to complete a segment of our larger adventure, so we passed up many gunk-holing opportunities along the way.
